In 2019, I had the opportunity to study at the University of British Columbia. When I came back, I thought of creating a tour unique to the University of Washington that would center Indigenous stories and art. I applied and won funding through the Husky Seed Innovative Fund. About two years and a pandemic later, I published the Indigenous Walking Tour in 2021. The Indigenous Walking Tour of UW showcases seven stops: the Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture, Intellectual House, Miller Hall, Union Bay Natural Area, Medicinal Garden, Ethnic Cultural Center, and the Husky Union Building.
Currently, the Indigenous Walking Tour is fully open-source thanks to the continual support from UW partners and departments. You may access it through the PDF here or you can utilize the 3-D and Audio Virtual Tour here
You can purchase a physical copy of the tour at the University Book Store
Anyone, from college classes to book books, can use the Indigenous Walking Tour as a part of their curriculum.
If you are interested in booking a guided tour. Please fill out this form below and I'd be happy to accommodate your request.
